REXtac APAO plant is in operation again!

Oct. 15, 2009: REXtac LLC started the amorphous polyalpha-olefins (APAO) production plant in Odessa as scheduled on October 15^th. The production plant is said to be running well and making products again after its about 6 months shut down following the closure of the Odessa APAO, PE and PP plants by Flint Hills earlier this year.

REXtac acquired the APAO sales rights from Huntsman and the assets of Flint Hill Resources, including APAO and three PP lines at the Odessa site earlier this summer. REXtac is owned partly by Orion Pacific that always extruded, pelletized and packaged APAO for Flint Hills since 1988 when APAO manufacturing was started in Odessa. Thus with Orion Pacific's long expertise and takeover of Flint Hills skilled senior operation staff, REXtac have been able to restart the APAO line on set start date following months of hard work to make the APAO line a stand-alone unit with its own utilities and monomer supply (earlier it was integrated in the total Odessa polymer complex).

MELITEK is very excited that APAO plant is up running again and we expect to be able to start ship products to customers during November. We are convinced that with REXtac as sole owner of APAO, there will be a stronger commitment to APAO compared to recent years when actually three different companies were involved in the APAO manufacturing (Huntsman, Flint Hills and Orion).

REXtac APAO product codes and specifications will remain the same as when sold by Huntsman / manufactured by Flint Hills.
