Svend-Axel Laursen, founder and chairman of MELITEK passed away at 68 years of age

Dear friends,

It is with great sorrow that we inform that our father, friend and mentor, Svend-Axel Laursen passed away on August 24th at 68 years of age.

His sudden death was unexpected and occurred when returning home from a beautiful opera vacation in Bayreuth, Germany.

Svend-Axel founded MELITEK in 1979 and during his years running the company he developed close relationship with many of his business friends which he valued immensely. After his retirement in 2001, Svend-Axel continued as chairman of the board for MELITEK and headed our plant building project in 2002/2003. Until his passing, he continued to have daily contact with the company and enjoyed following the business and the people.

We will miss our father, cherish his memory and are proud to carry on the visions we shared for MELITEK.
