REXtac, USA 

REXtac acquired the business and manufacturing of APAO products from Huntsman Corporation summer of 2009. The APAO plant in Odessa Texas will recommence APAO production in October 2009 after its been established as a standalone plant of the former Odessa polymer complex.

MELITEK is pleased to continue the sales of APAO products from REXtac and will service European customers either with direct supply from USA or via some of our warehouse in Europe.

REXtac® APAO products are used in a wide variety of applications in industries such as adhesives and sealants, hygiene, personal care, construction, and electronics. Since REXtac® APAO is an olefin-based polymers, it is easy to handle, compatible with many other materials, and has minimum impact on the environment.

APAO (Amorphous PolyAlpha Olefins):

REXtac offers a line of amorphous polyolefin products that are unmatched in the industry.

Using patented technologies, REXtac® APAO (Amorphous PolyAlpha Olefins) are produces in Odessa, Texas. These polymer products are used in a wide variety of applications in industries such as adhesives and sealants, medical, personal care, construction, and electronics. Since REXtac® APAO is an olefin-based polymers, it is easy to handle, compatible with many other materials, and has minimum impact on the environment.

REXtac's proprietary process manufactures a family of versatile amorphous polymers. These low molecular weight, REXtac® APAO Amorphous PolyAlphaOlefin, are available in homopolymer, propylene-ethylene copolymers, and propylene-butene copolymers in a wide range of viscosity and physical properties.

REXtac® APAO (Amorphous PolyAlpha Olefins) are a family of propylene-based thermoplastic polymers offering a combination of both physical and chemical properties.

The advantages of low molecular weight and low crystallinity (high amorphous level) provide REXtac® APAO with characteristics such as easy processing, controlled tack and adhesive strength, low temperature flexibility, as well as low density and excellent moisture resistance inherent in propylene-based polymers.

Patented, versatile production technology allows the manufacture of REXtac® APAO homopolymers (propylene only) or copolymers with either ethylene or butene, providing this wide range of properties. Applications include adhesive and sealant formulations, laminations, bitumen modification for roofing and road paving, wire and cable filling and flooding, as well as a variety of compounds. Multiple forms of REXtac® APAO are available including either molten or solid bulk shipments (drum to tank car) as well as briquettes and pellets (box or bag).
